About

About HubSpot Field Notes

I am Sam Barth, a HubSpot-certified practitioner. I build and clean up HubSpot portals for a living: workflows, imports, reporting, CMS templates, integrations. Most of the questions I get are not in the documentation, or they are, but buried three links deep. These are my notes on how to fix them.

How each article is made

  • Tested in a real portal. Every step is walked through in HubSpot before it is published. The screenshots come from that walkthrough, with personal data blurred.
  • Dated. HubSpot changes its interface often. Each article shows the date it was last verified, and older ones get re-checked.
  • Upfront about requirements. The subscription tier and user permissions you need are listed at the top, so you know before you start whether the fix is available to you.
  • Sourced. Where HubSpot's knowledge base or developer docs cover the topic, the article links to them.

Links into your portal

Links to HubSpot screens open your default portal. If you work in more than one portal, type its ID in the box at the top of an article, or use the link builder. The ID stays in your browser tab. It is not saved or sent anywhere.

Independence
