Short answer

HubSpot's KB: legacy funnel reports had no requirement for sequential ordering; journey funnel reports count sequential stage completion. Contacts may not appear if their lifecycle events fall outside the report date range, and HubSpot's example notes a five-year data limit for journey funnels.
